10 Things To Expect From The Google Pixel 3 Event On October 9

Google is set to host its big event on October 9 in which it will reveal its next in line flagship duo – Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. However, these are not the only products the company has in store for users. We will also see a plethora of new products and upgrades to existing products. However, the shiny new toy will remain the new smartphones which have received a bevy of leaks for us to familiarize with. So let’s see some more details on what we can expect from the search engine giant on October 9.

Google Is Expected To Announce The Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixelbook 2, Pixel Slate Tablet, New Pixel Buds And More On It’s October 9 Event

Apple received its fair share of attention last month at its Gather Round iPhone XS event. The event featured various gigantic releases such as the arrival of the iPhone XS Max and the complete redesign of the Apple Watch. In lieu of that, we have high hopes from Google and its plans for us and we’re not referring to the Pixel 3 duo, per se, but everything else as well. So let’s see what we can expect on October 9.

Pixel 3 And Pixel 3 XL

Starting off with the most obvious product out of the bunch, the company is set to release its third generation of Pixel-branded smartphones. Both of the devices will feature a bigger display compared to their predecessors. However, the bigger Pixel 3 XL will feature a deep notch at the top which has not received pleasant comments over the past few months. For the first time, the Pixel lineup will feature wireless charging and a second selfie camera. The external design will be more or less the same.

Google Home Hub

At this point in time, we’re not a hundred percent sure whether we will see a new Google Home speaker or a product with a smart display, which was said to be in works. It will feature the Google Assistant similar to what we have experienced before on other products. If it is announced, it will compete against Amazon’s new Echo Show. It will also house a webcam for video chatting and much more.

PixelBook 2

It is rumored that the there is an upgrade coming for the original Pixelbook. The rumors of a refreshed variant have been running long which suggest that it will come with more RAM. According to the Chrome OS code, the new Pixelbook 2 will be equipped with a 4K display option as well, up from the current QHD display. While the leaks have been pretty scarce, it remains a question whether the upgrade will be announced at the company’s October 9 event.

Pixel Slate Tablet

Latest rumors from Android Police suggest that Google is working on a new high-end tablet with a detachable keyboard. Clearly, the Pixel Slate tablet will compete against the giants of the industry, Apple’s iPad Pro an Microsoft’s Surface Pro. There will be multiple configurations available with up to 16GB of RAM coupled with Intel Core-i7 processor. Other rumors suggest that the Pixel Slate tablet will feature a USB-C port with a screen resolution of 3000 by 2000 which is similar to the iPad Pro and the Surface Pro. Other than this, the device is also said to support a fingerprint scanner. Do you think Chrome OS is advanced enough to run on a tablet?

Pixel Charging Stand

The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will feature wireless charging thanks to the glass back. This gives room to the company to put out a wireless charging solution. According to rumors, the Pixel Charging stand will make the smartphone stand upright instead of allowing it to rest on a flat surface. This is also a practical solution as information will be displayed easily.

New Pixel Buds

While we are expecting the search engine to announce the second generation of Pixel buds, we’re not sure if we will see them on October 9. The original Pixel buds were not received well form consumers and seeing how there is no AirPods competitor on the market, we do hope Google releases them at its event.

Chromecast Update

It has been a long time since the update of the Chromecast. This year, we expect the company to announce it, however, we aren’t seeing any major additions in terms of features. It was said that Chromecast will add Bluetooth support bit we don’t see it happening this year.

Software Updates

While we can’t really point on the feature but Google will release new software for several of its products with new features. For instance, the Pixel is said to feature Google Lens integration within the camera app. So similar updates can be expected for other products as well.

Accessories

Like every Google event, we also expect that the company will also release new accessories for its devices. This includes different types of cases and covers in several colors. Since accessories a major part of the release of a specific product, Google will probably update existing ones in new color options as well as announce new ones for the new products.

No Pixel Watch

Other than this, we previously heard that Google was working on its very own Pixel smartwatch. However, later on, the company cleared to Tom’s Guide that it will not be releasing a smartwatch this year. So smartwatch rumors from Google would have to wait. besides, Wear OS is nowhere close to the level of functionality watchOS provides. We would love to see an Apple Watch competitor, so the wait is all we can do for now.

This is all for what we can expect from the company on October 9. At this point in time, leaks and rumors keep pouring in or the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, so be sure to check them out as well for a more clearer insight on the product. We will be covering the event extensively, so be sure to stay tuned in for more. There will be more details on the matter, so stick around.

This is all for now folks. What do you think Google will announce? Any surprises waiting for us on October 9? Let us know in the comments section below.
