USB-C

In a fresh report, thecultofmac believes that Apple’s 2018 iPad Pro refresh will allow users to use Face ID in both landscape and portrait orientations. The publication claims to have discovered this little tidbit inside Apple’s iOS 12.1 Beta. In the Beta, iOS will require you to set up Face ID in portrait orientation. After it has been set-up, you’ll be able to unlock the iPad in either of the two positions.

The exact text of iOS 12.1 Beta reads: “Face ID needs to be in portrait to learn how to recognize you. After Face ID has been set up, it will work in portrait and landscape.” Face ID in portrait mode should be a no-brainer, given the amount of attention Apple pays to its gadgets and their usability.
