Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s First DLC, “The Forge” Heats Things Up Next Month

Get ready to sweat, because Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be dropping its first DLC story expansion next month. The Forge presents Lara with some fiery new challenges, as she delves into a dangerous lava-filled temple. We don’t have a trailer for The Forge, but you can check out a couple screenshots below (click on images for full resolution).

Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect from The Forge:

In The Forge, Lara must brave the lava-flooded Forge of the fallen gods to uncover the secrets of Kuwaq Yaku. Throughout her journey, Lara will uncover details about a friend’s ancient legacy, and overcome a danger long thought to be lost in flame. The Forge delivers a brand-new challenge tomb, playable in both solo and co-op. Players who complete the challenge tomb will be rewarded with the Grenadier skill, Brocken outfit, and Umbrage 3-80 weapon.

Sounds like a solid little package. The Forge is part of Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s “Paths” season pass, which will eventually deliver seven new adventures, each of which includes a new story, missions, challenge tomb, weapon, outfit, and skill. The full season pass will set you back $30, or you can buy each individual Path for $5.

On the fence about Shadow of the Tomb Raider? Wccftech’s own Alessio Palumbo reviewed the game, and found it to be a satisfying final chapter in Lara Croft’s new origin story…

“Shadow of the Tomb Raider succeeds in giving Lara the character growth she needed and also brings the reboot trilogy to a satisfying closure. It does so mostly by refining the strong gameplay foundation set with the previous installments while delivering a great action/adventure experience in terms of storytelling and audiovisual spectacle.”

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The Forge will be available to download on November 13.
