This year, LG did not launch a refresh for its flagship smartphone lineup at the MWC. The company has struggled with the G lineup of late; as its focus continues on the V series – launched in tandem with Apple’s iPhone and Samsung Note lineups. Therefore, we were not surprised when reports prior to the conference claimed that the tentative LG G7 will appear at Barcelona. Now that MWC’s all done for, we’ve got some concept renders of the LG G7. They show what the smartphone will offer – as it launches in June, according to rumors. Take a look below for the details.
Concept Renders For The LG G7 Show Yet Another 18:9 Display; Include Clever Display Play With The Smartphone’s Front Camera Cutout
In stark comparison to 2017 and before, this year we have not seen many details for an upcoming LG G smartphone launch. Little details which have surfaced do not suggest anything remarkable. Even as it continues to manufacture smartly holistic touchscreen phones, LG is unable to differentiate itself from other companies which offer devices in similar price segments as the Korean company’s devices. Therefore, they perform even worse than Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup does post launch – even though the latter looses steam in sales as the year progresses.

Now, if we assume that today’s concept renders will materialize, looks like 2018 will not be any different. We’ve got some concept renders courtesy of Technobuffalo, which claim to summarize every relevant detail for the LG G7 which has surfaced over the past couple of months, in visual form. These show a stark resemblance to Apple’s iPhone X but also show a bit of creativity.
If you start by looking at the renders in which its display is off, you will see that the LG G7 matches Apple’s iPhone X in a cursory glance. However, despite featuring a notch, the internal arrangement of the sensors is completely different. Right now, no concrete information suggests facial recognition on the smartphone, which gives LG plenty of room to play around with the front camera and other associated elements.
It’s at the back where the G7 truly shines, especially when compared against leaked images of Xiaomi’s upcoming Mix 2s. While the latter breaks continuity, LG’s designers understand elemental balance more. The LG G7’s dual camera setup, flash and fingerprint sensor are all neatly arranged and follow a symmetrical emergence from the center. When the G7 does launch, it will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845, 4/6GB RAM and a 16MP rear camera. Of course, take all these with a grain of salt, as information generally becomes concrete close to launch. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned.
