Now that the first cycle of flagship smartphones for the year is over, it’s time we start looking at future devices. The rumor mill is active as usual, continuing to help us with our search. Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ refined the company’s stellar design. After introducing edge to edge displays last year, Samsung made sure that other performance segments were at par with expectations from a flagship lineup. Now that the Galaxy S9 a pair are yesterday’s news, it’s time to look at what else Samsung will give us this year, in the high-end segment. Today a fresh Galaxy Note 9 benchmark has surfaced on GeekBench. Take a look below for the details.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Allegedly Surfaces On GeekBench, Scoring Impressively In Single And Multi Core Tests; Features 4GB RAM In A Disappointing Sign
Even though it isn’t due for another four or five months, information for the Galaxy Note 9 is rampant on unofficial sources. Right now, it’s expected that the Note 9 will feature a 4,000mAh battery. Samsung has already registered its trademark and firmware testing has also commenced.

Opinion for virtual fingerprint sensing, a feature that does not want to leave our rumor mill is divided. We’ve got conflicting reports, one of which is a patent and the other, internal information about Samsung’s test procedures. A month back we saw a Samsung patent which laid down virtual fingerprint sensing on the Galaxy Note 9 in detail. Subsequently, just as folks got optimistic, KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Samsung is facing unsatisfactory yields after testing the feature with screen protectors.
Moving towards benchmarks, today we’ve got a fresh GeekBench listing for the Samsung SM-N960U. It shows a 2190 single core and 8806 multi core score. Both of these are customary of what we’d expect from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845. Scores for the Galaxy S9+ paint a similar picture, so right now do not expect any stellar improvements for the Note 9. That being said, perhaps Samsung will launch the smartphone with an 8GB RAM variant as well.
Of course, it’s still too early to form concrete judgments for the Galaxy Note 9. The phablet will launch in summer, so we’ve got a lot of time for more leaks to surface. Right now, the more optimistic of us believe that Samsung will launch virtual fingerprint recognition on the device. But, don’t get your hopes up. Thoughts?
