We all know very well that after deciding not to implement the Treble Project in OnePlus 5 and 5T, the well-known Chinese brand, of course, OnePlus was heavily criticized by its fans. However, now according to the latest reports, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T receive unofficial Project Treble support.

OnePlus 5 OnePlus 5T Receive UNOFFICIAL Project Treble Support

After deciding not to implement the Treble Project in OnePlus 5 and 5T, the well-known Chinese brand, of course, OnePlus was heavily criticized by its fans.

However, now according to an investigation by a set of developers, this implementation may arrive soon.

The tech giant Google has in Project Treble the goal of reducing fragmentation on Android devices. However, although it is mandatory for devices that bring Android 8 Oreo native, those that are upgraded from previous versions do not share the same obligation.

If brands such as the tech giant Google and the well-known giant Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei have implemented this novelty in the old models, many others have not. The well-known Chinese brand, of course, OnePlus is one of those cases, having justified that this change could result in problems in the update, a response that motivated some contestation on the part of its fans. A petition was also made at Change.org by the users, however, it had no practical results.

However, this position may be to change. According to the team responsible for ROM Mokee development, a hidden partition was found within the 1.4 GB file system. This discovery allowed the programmers to implement the Treble Project in their ROM and can be followed by other ROMs, as is the case of LineageOS 15.

Besides the possibility of implementing this novelty, another novelty was also discovered. This partition can be used without the need to format or repartition the device.

After the Custom ROMs natively implement the Treble Project in OnePlus 5 and 5T, simply we need to know if OnePlus will benefit from implementing Treble on the new partition already created or not.
