Even though it is still out in the market, the failure rate if the older handset is quite high compared to the latest releases. Now, according to a new report from Blancco, a security firm, the failure rate of the iPhone 6 sits at the very top. Let’s dive in to see some more details on the matter.
iPhone 6 Has A Failure Rate Of 22 Percent, Still Lower Than The Highest Of Samsung Devices
As we have mentioned earlier, “State of Mobile Device Repair Security” for the iPhone 6 rests at 22 percent. With the iPhone 6s, the failure rate is considerably less at 16 percent. According to the report, the major faults pertaining to iOS is Bluetooth in general following by Wi-Fi, headset and the mobile data which can affect the overall performance of the device.
Even though the failure rate of the iPhone 6 is quite high, it is still considerably lower than the highest failure rate of Samsung devices at 27.4 percent. This suggests that Samsung devices feature the highest failure rate of all Android smartphones. Performance remains to be the most crucial aspect in Android devices.

The data and accumulated result from Blancco is based on the “data collected from iOS and Android devices brought into wireless carriers and device manufacturers for Blancco testing and erasure”. Henceforth, it does not depict results as a whole.
Blancco also found that 74.3 percent of iOS devices run iOS 11 and 17.7 percent of the devices are running iOS 10. In comparison, over 50 percent of Android devices are running on Android Nougat which was launched back in 2016.
