The 2018 iPhone 9, iPhone X(s), And iPhone X(s) Plus’ 18W Fast Charger Will Not Be Available For A Retail Purchase
One feature that Android users have always loved to boast about is quick charging. Apple is late to the game (as usual), but now it’s looking to make up for lost time. Several sources believe that the 2018 iPhone lineup will ship with 18W fast chargers, as Apple looks to end user confusion completely.
However, today we’ve got a fresh report that provides more information about Apple’s plans for the new adapter. According to Japanese blog MacOtakara, factory space for manufacturing these adapters is limited; therefore they will only ship inside the boxes of the 2018 iPhone 9, iPhone X(s), and iPhone X(s) Plus, and will not be available for a retail purchase.

So if you were looking to purchase this charger for your existing iPhone, you’ll be out of luck this year. The chargers will be manufactured by Flex Electronics, Delta Electronics, Artesyn and Lite-On Technology. This information’s source also has details for Apple’s new lightning chip that’s dubbed ”C488″. This chip will be available to third-party manufacturers in 2019, just as predicted by earlier sources.
To sum it up, Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup will feature new chargers that Cupertino will most likely use as an additional feature for the devices. Their lack of retail availability will provide a small, added incentive for users to purchase one of the three iPhones that the company will launch this year. For us, we’ll be to finally see Apple catch up with Android in the charging space – officially. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned.
