NVIDIA Partners Clear GeForce 10 Series Inventory By Offering Promo Bundles, Price Cuts on Various Custom Graphics Cards

NVIDIA and their board partners have finally started clearing GeForce 10 series inventory by offering promotional bundles and price cuts as a part of their ‘Made to Game’ campaign. The graphics cards under this campaign will be part of the existing GeForce 10 series lineup which launched and has been available since 2016.

NVIDIA ‘Made To Game’ Campaign Is Green Team’s Attempt To Clear Excess GeForce 10 Inventory To Make Way For Next-Gen Cards – Promotional Bundles and Price Cuts on Various GeForce 10 Cards

NVIDIA is running the campaign through a variety of top retailers and their board partners. The marketing scheme involves bundled promotions such as SSD bundles with a range of GeForce 10 graphics cards and also the NVIDIA exclusive game promo which includes a copy of Destiny 2 and it’s two DLCs, Curse of the Osiris and Warmind.

The entire lineup has received the promo which includes GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, GeForce GTX 1080, GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, GeForce GTX 1070, GeForce GTX 1060 and the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. It’s note worthy that since this is a region-specific marketing campaign right now which includes the UAE, UK, and Portugal, prices are based in either British Pound or AED. Also, being region specific also means that not all manufacturer graphics cards would be included in the campaign, based on your location.

The graphics cards that are part of the promo are bundled with Kingston SSD in capacities of either 120GB of 240GB. The higher the graphics card model, the higher the SSD capacity you are going to get. The price cuts, on the other hand, aren’t as significant as you might expect so bundles are there to make the deal look enticing for gamers who are willing to get a graphics cards for gaming right now and cannot wait for the next-generation parts to release. Some deals from NVIDIA’s web page and OCUK can be seen below:

The deals from OCUK are also listed below for your conviencence:

  • EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid w/NVIDIA Game Bundle (Was: £799.99 and Now: £779.99)
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti ROG STRIX w/NVIDIA Game Bundle (Was: £799.99 and Now: £769.99)
  • Inno3D GeForce GTX 1080 TI Twin X2 w/NVIDIA Game Bundle (Was£718.99 and Now: £649.99)
  • Palit GeForce GTX 1080 Dual Force Graphics w/NVIDIA Game Bundle (Was: £469.99 and Now: £449.99)
  • Inno3D GeForce GTX 1070 HerculeZ Twin X2w/ NVIDIA Game Bundle (Was: £359.99 and Now: £329.99)
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 Dual OC w/ASUS Cerburus Mouse Bundle (Was: £259.99 and Now: £248.99)

The interesting thing is that it has been more than two years since most of these cards released yet their prices remain intact. Much of that has to do with the excess of stock that NVIDIA produced by overestimating the crypto mining demand which has shot them in the foot. Now NVIDIA has large sums of inventory to clear up through their retail and channel partners and they are reluctant to provide any incentives to retailers or offer official price cuts to clear away the inventory fast. That might explain why it is taking so long for them to release their next-generation graphics cards.

Even when the new cards launch in the rumored August/September timeframe, we can see a large chunk of GeForce 10 series cards on retail channels. Pricing of the cards would be so close that it will be hard to distinguish the new cards from the old. My advice to everyone who is in the market to buy a new graphics card is to wait a few months, at least till the launch of the new GeForce next-generation lineup, which will make more sense for gamers than buying a 2-year-old graphics card this late in their product shelve time.

Tell us what you plan to do, whether wait the whole thing out or just go on and purchase a current generation graphics card?
