Android Pie Rolling Out for the Galaxy Note 9 in Germany; Note 8 Beta Likely to Start Next Week

Even though Samsung may have started its Android Pie rollout for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus earlier last month, the update is available only in specific regions. I’m yet to receive the update on my own Galaxy S9++, and at this point, things look bleak. But, it turns out that the German market is in for yet another surprise in the form of Android Pie for the Galaxy Note 9. It was only a matter of time, considering that its beta was in its final stages.

Currently, it is rolling out only to users who participated in the OneUI beta program. The update bears build number N960FXXU2CRLT and is only 95MB in size. The update is yet to reach users who are not a part of the beta program. For everyone else, the update will be around the 1-1.5GB mark. The update comes with the yet-to-be-released January security patch and all the standard Android Pie features.

Galaxy Note 8 Android Pie beta might start next week

Yesterday, we uncovered some hints that indicated the start of an Android Pie beta for the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and Note 8. Today, Sammobile stumbled upon some more signs that signal the beginning of the much-awaited Android Pie beta for Samsung’s 2017 flagships. One of the Samsung moderators in the Members forum in South Korea stated that Android Pie beta program might begin in a week for the Galaxy Note 8. The Galaxy S8 will apparently receive the beta after the Note 8, which is not surprising in the slightest.

However, most users will have to wait until as late as March to get a slice of the Pie. Even if the beta program starts next week as anticipated, the build will have to go through several iterations before it is rolled out en masse. Still, it’s good to see that Samsung is actively working on delivering updates at a quicker pace compared to previous years.
