Following in tune with 2017, Apple launched three new iPhones this Wednesday. The launch confirmed months of speculation and revealed new features for the devices. One major upgrade is Apple’s 7nm A12 Bionic, powering the trio. It features a brand new Neural Engine with eight cores and 5 TOPS (Trillion Operations/second). The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max improve in several areas of performance over the iPhone X. We get a brand new processor on a smaller node. Camera sensors have changed and so has the True Depth setup for Face ID. Apple’s improved speaker performance and the two new smartphones come in a Gold finish.

Additionally starting price for the 5.8″ iPhone Xs remains the same as of its predecessor. Both the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max also feature 512GB of internal storage. The 6.5″ gadget has the largest screen in the smartphone lineup’s history. Finally while in 2017 it was the premiumiPhone X that witnessed a delayed release, this year it’s the 6.1″ LCD iPhone Xr.

Pre-orders for the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max are now open. The iPhone Xs starts at $999 for the 64GB variant and the iPhone Xs Max starts at $1099 for similar storage.

If you pre-order today then you will get the gadget on September 21st. The devices are available in Silver, Space Gray and Gold. Retail package contents remain unchanged except for the fact that you will not get a 3.5mm to lightning dongle this year. We were hoping Apple to mainstream Lightning-to-USB C cables on the iPhones this year, but that isn’t the case.

Finally, a lot of folks expected that Apple will include Apple Pencil support with the iPhone Xs Max. The rumors picked up the flow following Samsung’s overhaul of the Note 9’s S-Pen.
