Apple usually stops signing its previous firmware to encourage users to stick to the latest. After its initial release in September, Apple is now no longer signing iOS 12. Apple’s latest public update which you can install now is iOS 12.0.1 which carried a fix to several bugs and also enhanced performance. Other than this, the update also fixed the annoying charging issue as well as Wi-Fi issues and more. Since Apple has stopped signing iOS 12 what does it mean for average as well as jailbreak users? Apple Stops Signing iOS 12 – Downgrade No Longer Possible In Case A jailbreak Arrives
As we have mentioned earlier, Apple has stopped signing iOS 12, which means that users can no longer downgrade to the build from iOS 12.0.1. For average users, this might not be a big deal as the latest version carries fixes for several issues and is more stable than iOS 12. However, jailbreak users are the ones who prefer downgrading to the previous build in order to jailbreak their iOS devices.

No public jailbreak is available for users on iOS 12. However, it is the future possibility of a jailbreak which makes users want to resist upgrading to the latest build. We have already seen a demo of iOS 12 jailbreak, but we have not heard if the developers are willing to release it to the general public. If you’re resting on iOS 12 and are expecting a potential jailbreak, you might want to resist upgrading to the latest iOS 12.0.1 update. If you do so, you should know that you will not be allowed by Apple to downgrade back to iOS 12.
Henceforth, make the upgrading choice as you see fit and consider all possibilities for a future update. Again, once you have updated to iOS 12.0.1, you can no longer downgrade to iOS 12. iOS 12.1 currently rests in the beta phase and will be out soon, so be sure to stick around for that.
