ASUS ROG Phone Pre-Orders Show up on a Finland-Based Online Store With a Price Starting at More Than $1,100

Pre-orders for the ASUS ROG phone are now being accepted by the Finnish carrier Telia. The gaming-centric smartphone was announced earlier in 2018 (check out our exclusive coverage here) but this is the first time that something related to its price has been mentioned.

ASUS ROG Phone Listed for Approximately $1150 for an Entire Smartphone Package – Buy or Bust?

A Reddit user was the first one to report that Telia is now accepting pre-orders for the phone. The website mentions a price of €999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant, which is roughly $1150. However, the price also includes VAT, which is 24 percent in Finland. Without the VAT, the price is around $930. Either way, the price is pretty high but if it’s any consolation, you can save $190 if you pre-order the ASUS ROG Phone as you will get ROG Delta Headset with a USB Type-C connection for free.

The headset sports the RGB Republic of Gamers logo, much like the one present at the back of the phone. Apart from the glowing logo, the headset can also enhance the functionality of the device. The headphones can be connected to the AeroActive Cooler’s USB Type-C port to keep cables out of the way during gaming sessions.

The 3.5 mm headphone jack had been included in the phone and the cooler as well. The AeroActive Cooler is a small accessory and it will come with the device to prevent overheating.

The listing on the Finnish website says that the delivery of the phone will start from the 38th week, which means from September 17. The device will reportedly start retailing from October to avoid clashes with Samsung and Apple, which will be releasing their flagship devices in August and September respectively. It is not known yet if other countries will get similar pre-order deals but other carriers are expected to put forward their own offers pretty soon.
