They Shall Not Pass puts you in control of hardened French soldiers as they make a stand against the Germans at the Battle of Verdun, one of the bloodiest and most hard-fought conflicts of World War I. Expect all the usual goodies from the expansion, including:
Frontlines mode: Experience a mix of Conquest and Rush as you fight for chained control points in a tug-of-war frontline. Both teams fight for one flag at a time and when this objective is captured the action moves on to the next. Capture the enemy’s HQ control point and the game turns into a Rush-style section where telegraph posts need to be attacked or defended.
Two New Operations: Massive tank battles. Close-quarters fighting. Tackle two new epic Operations: The Devil’s Anvil and Beyond the Marne.
Trench Raider Elite Class: Use the melee skills of the new Elite Class: the Trench Raider. With the brutal Raider Club and impressive grenade arsenal, you will be a terrifying sight.
New Maps
- Verdun Heights: The opening barrage of the Battle of Verdun created massive forest fires in which players will fight for domination. This is an uphill battle towards the massive fortresses of Verdun.
- Fort De Vaux: Enter a dark underworld. Down in the maze of dark galleries and wet stone corridors, French and Germans fight ferociously with grenades, guns, bayonets, and flamethrowers.
- Soissons: Take part in one of the biggest tank assaults of WW1. The French move to take back Soissons using their powerful St. Chamond tanks. Planes, tanks, and infantry clash in the beautiful French countryside.
- Rupture: In dire need to capture key bridges across the Aisne river, the French find themselves on battlefields where poppies grow over rusty tank wrecks. This maze of steel is a great place for those who plan an ambush.
In addition to the stuff above, you also get the typical assortment of new weapons, vehicles, and gadgets. They Shall Not Pass usually costs $15, so this is a pretty nice deal.
They Shall Not Pass is available for free through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Origin in both the US and Europe. The promotion lasts until May 15.
