Bethesda Details Upcoming Fallout 76 Patch #5 and Survival Mode; More to be Shared Closer to Release

The upcoming Fallout 76 patch #5 and the game’s survival mode have been further detailed by Bethesda.

Fallout 76’s “dangerous” survival mode is separate from the game’s adventure mode and has fewer PvP restrictions. According to Bethesda, the mode is intended to provide players with “more demanding, high-stakes, and deadly adventures.”

The mode is still being actively worked on will be rolled out to the live game in phases. Survival will offer a new way to play Fallout 76. The same quests, events, and story that players know from the game’s adventure mode will all remain available in Survival, but players will have to “navigate them under the ever-looming threat of hostile dwellers who may be hiding just around the corner.”

Survival mode can either be played with your existing character or a newly created one. Bethesda notes, “If you do take on Survival mode with an existing character, keep in mind that all your progress from Adventure mode will travel with you, and anything that affects your character in one game mode will also affect them in the other.”
