Treyarch has officially declared the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Black Market open for business. For those unfamiliar, the Black Market is where players can go to buy cosmetic gear and Supply Drops, sometimes with real money. This time around, Treyarch is adding some new features to the Black Market, including the Battle-Pass-style Contraband Stream, that lets you earn content by playing through Seasonal Operations.

Here’s how Treyarch describes the Contraband Stream:
The Contraband stream in the Black Market provides a progression path to earn the items you want simply by playing the game. That means a ton of new ways to show off your personal style. Contraband items will be delivered through seasonal Operations, with each Operation delivering a new batch of content every couple of months. Operation First Strike delivers the first season of content starting today on PS4. These Operations bring a ton of great gear and items that everyone can access, including:
- Signature Weapons
- All-New Blackout Characters- New playable characters will be released with each new Operation.
- Specialists Outfits – Cool customization content built around themes for all Specialists in-game; you can even mix and match the look of your character within outfit sets.
- Tags / Gestures – Whether you’re taunting opponents or celebrating a victory, Tags and Gestures are a perfect way to express yourself in the game.
The Black Market will also play host to limited-time Seasonal Events, which will also earn you new gear. The first event will, of course, be Halloween-themed and kick off tomorrow (October 20). For now, Operation First Strike and the Halloween Event are the only ways to get new gear from the Black Market, but Blackjack’s Shop, which lets you buy individual items, launches in November.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Black Market is available now on PS4. It comes to PC and Xbox One next week (October 26).
