Instagram’s attempts to figure out which content should be displayed on users’ feed is somewhat confusing. According to Instagram, this is how the process is going to work:
“We’ve heard it can feel unexpected when your feed refreshes and automatically bumps you to the top. So today we’re testing a “New Posts” button that lets you choose when you want to refresh, rather than it happening automatically. Tap the button and you’ll be taken to new posts at the top of feed — don’t tap, and you’ll stay where you are. We hope this makes browsing Instagram much more enjoyable.”
Once the company tweaks its platform to display new posts first, it will put the minds of millions of users to rest. It’s good to see that Instagram is listening to the feedback and implementing changes accordingly. The platform confirms that the newer posts from the people and accounts you follow will be displayed at the top of the list.
