Chronological Feed Coming To Instagram? Two Major Changes Seems To Suggest So

Instagram is on its way to change the feed again with two major changes. The changes will correspond to how you interact with posts and which posts show up where. Most of the upcoming variation deal on newer posts. It’s been a well-established topic where Instagram has been accused of not publishing posts in a chronological manner. However, it seems this is about to change pretty soon as Instagram has announced that it will be focusing on newer posts. So let’s dive in to see some more details on the matter.

Instagram Adding “Newer Posts” To Bolster A Chronological Feed And More

Two years since the photo-sharing platform made a change, where “algorithm-based” content would appear on your feed. However, this is about to change soon. The company has announced that it will change the way how its feed operates. The focus has been shifted back to “newer posts” which makes sense on a social media platform.

Instagram’s attempts to figure out which content should be displayed on users’ feed is somewhat confusing. According to Instagram, this is how the process is going to work:

“We’ve heard it can feel unexpected when your feed refreshes and automatically bumps you to the top. So today we’re testing a “New Posts” button that lets you choose when you want to refresh, rather than it happening automatically. Tap the button and you’ll be taken to new posts at the top of feed — don’t tap, and you’ll stay where you are. We hope this makes browsing Instagram much more enjoyable.”

Once the company tweaks its platform to display new posts first, it will put the minds of millions of users to rest. It’s good to see that Instagram is listening to the feedback and implementing changes accordingly. The platform confirms that the newer posts from the people and accounts you follow will be displayed at the top of the list.

The company is also turning off the ability to refresh itself. This is somewhat of a welcome change because every time you open Instagram, the feed refreshes and takes you to the top. There will also be a “New Posts” button which will let you choose if you want to refresh the feed.

There will be more to the story, so be sure to stay tuned for more details and availability of the changes. This is all for now, folks. What are your thoughts on Instagram finally bringing a chronological feed to the platform? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
