Even though Samsung is reportedly working on a display that will have both the speaker and the front camera beneath it, the technology needs to be perfected before it is commercialized. Samsung has apparently made a prototype already, so hopefully, we won’t have to wait that long. But meanwhile, we will have to make do with a ‘pierced’ display.
Basically, Samsung is going to put the front camera inside a tiny hole towards the top of the display. This would take up a lot less space than the notch cutout and result in a greater screen to body ratio. We will hopefully see this design on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10, which might be unveiled during the next year’s MWC that will be held in February.

Since Samsung has not officially said anything about the tiny cutout, this might as well be a rumor. However, it sounds pretty interesting and the concept creator Ben Geskin has now created a render based on all the rumors. The envisioned phone has a bezel-less, all-screen design with a tiny hole for the selfie camera at the top. The phone looks futuristic and appears like a worthy design upgrade over the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ Plus. If Samsung whips up anything like this, we are sure that the Galaxy S10 Plus will give the other manufacturers a run for their money.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship will reportedly be powered by the next-generation Exynos or Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, depending on the market, and one of its variants would also be 5G-capable. A report has also claimed that the 5G variant of the Galaxy S10 could sport up to 12GB of RAM. The phone will presumably have an in-display fingerprint scanner too. In short, it seems that after a lull, the Galaxy S series smartphones might be able to perform well in the market again.
