Cyberpunk 2077 Is Currently Playable From Start To Finish, Producer Confirms

Cyberpunk 2077 is still in development, and CDPR is making it pretty clear that the game isn’t releasing anytime soon. Still, a very important development milestone has been reached recently.

Speaking with Engadget at Gamescom 2018, Cyberpunk 2077 producer Richard Borzymowski confirmed that the game is currently playable from start to finish. This doesn’t mean that it’s ready for release, as there are still assets missing as well as testing and bug fixes. The fact that the story has come together, however, is definitely an important milestone.

Richard Borzymowski also spoke about Cyberpunk 2077 story. While the game will feature a fight against the system, they wat to keep the story personal and don’t want to make it another “save the world” story.

The punk part in cyberpunk stands not only for rock and roll and sex and drugs and whatever. It also stands as a fight against the system.

We want to always keep it personal. We don’t want to tell a story about rescuing the world. We don’t want to basically destroy the system. … It’s not just another part in this cyberpunk-industry cliche machine.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on PC and consoles on a yet to be confirmed release date.
