Mac users can now download macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra right now with bug fixes and other minor improvements. Here’s how you can update.

Although macOS Mojave is the talk of the town at the moment, but we can’t let our minds stray away from High Sierra just yet. After all, it’s the publicly available version of Apple’s desktop operating system and will be for the months to come until Mojave is released to everyone later this year.

macOS 10.13.6 is a new point release to High Sierra, and it does not bring anything new to the table feature-wise. But it promises to add stability to your Mac while also fixing certain bugs you might be encountering on a day to day basis. Here’s the changelog of the update straight from the Mac App Store:
Since this is a point release, therefore I will recommend installing it over the air without taking any extra precaution or unnecessary step. Simply launch the Mac App Store, save all your work and click on the Updates tab. Over here you’ll see the new update available for download. Just click on the black ‘Update’ button next to it and it will begin downloading immediately. As soon as the download is complete, you’ll be asked whether or not you wish to install macOS 10.13.6 immediately or postpone it. Personally, I would recommend going for the installation right away. If you like, you may postpone the installation altogether.

The way macOS updates are delivered these days, you really don’t have to create bootable USB installers or whatnot to get a fresh copy of the OS onto your Mac. Obviously, this works only if you have an Internet connection at hand, that too a fast one otherwise it will take ages for the entire process to complete in a snap. Even still, the convenience of having to install a fresh copy of the OS without having to fiddle with USB drives is something everyone should rally behind.
