Media Molecule’s Dreams will give you the tools to make almost any game you want, but what if you’re just not the creative type? Don’t worry, you’re covered too — Dreams has a full story campaign and Game Informer just published a nice new chunk of gameplay from it. The campaign is essentially three games in one, with stages inspired by sci-fi, film noir, and childhood fantasy adventures. The Game Informer footage focuses on the sci-fi stages, in which players control a cute little robot named Debug who solves puzzles and brings elements of the world to life with his electrical powers. Looks like a pretty solid little puzzle-platformer concept! Check it out, below.
The second half of the video is arguably even more interesting than the first, as it shows how the stages were assembled using the Dreams in-game creation tools. It all looks pretty complex, with Media Molecule providing players with a full modular AI programming system and a variety of other advanced tools. Honestly, it’s a bit intimidating, but I’m still eager to give it a try.
