Representatives of the social network giant Facebook could have intentionally misinformed the British authorities about the extent of Moscow’s alleged interference in Brexit, according to a report from the Digital Technology, Culture, Media and Sports committee of the House of Commons.

In February 2018, experts from the North American company the social network giant Facebook informed the committee that they had not found advertisements related to Russia that showed interference from Moscow in the referendum on Brexit.

In this context, the members of British parliament simply ask the Government to “make a statement about the amount of research that is being carried out on the interference of Russia in the policy of the United Kingdom”.
