Fire Emblem: Three Houses was one of the first games announced for the Switch, and yet, until this afternoon, we didn’t know much about the game. We got a brief trailer at E3 2018, but it didn’t offer much aside from a peek at Three Houses’ mostly-traditional turned-based tactical gameplay.
Well, Nintendo finally lifted the curtain on Fire Emblem: Three Houses during today’s Nintendo Direct. Interestingly, the game almost seems to be taking a page from Harry Potter – you’re an instructor at the Garreg Mach Monastery, which lies at the center of the game’s three kingdoms. You can choose to ally with one of three houses (the Blue Lions, Black Eagles, or Golden Deer) each of which is a representative of one of the kingdoms. Of course you’re free to meddle in your students’ lives – you may even be able to spark a romance or two! Check out the Fire Emblem: Three Houses overview trailer below.
Here’s Nintendo official description of the game:
Fire Emblem: Three Houses – The Black Eagles. The Blue Lions. The Golden Deer. Three noble houses that are part of the Officer’s Academy, an elite facility that trains students in the ways of weapons, magic and special skills. As a professor, the player must choose one of these houses to lead its students in grid-based battles with life-or-death stakes. Each house is comprised of many different students to meet and train, each with her or his own personality and skills. These students can interact with each other at the academy, strengthening their bonds and supporting each other on the battlefield.
Nintendo is also offering a Fire Emblem: Three Houses “Seasons of Warfare” Special Edition, which includes a Steelbook case, soundtrack CD, calendar, and art book for $100 (click the image below for full resolution).
Fire Emblem: Three Houses marches onto Nintendo Switch on July 26.
