As the days pass, we’re edging closer to Samsung’s Galaxy S10 launch. After a disappointing year for the high-end smartphone lineup, the Korean tech giant is eager to make up for the loss of market share and its reputation. To that end, Samsung launched the Galaxy A8s last year with its brand new Infinity-O display panels. These panels will also make it on the Galaxy S10 smartphones, but with a slight twist. Today we’ve got another detailed report for Samsung’s upcoming gadgets. Take a look below for more details.
Another Report Corroborates Leaked Features Of Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Lineup
We’ve got a detailed expose from XDA’s Max Weinbach today, who claims to have several new details about Samsung’s flagship smartphones for 2019. Right now, it’s pretty much a given fact that Samsung will launch at least three Galaxy S10 smartphones. These will be the S10 Lite, the S10 and the S10+.

In addition to these, the company might also launch a fourth 5G Galaxy S10 variant, which will be a Verizon exclusive and release later than the other S10 smartphones. A big feature for the 5G Galaxy S10 is rumored to be a ToF camera sensor. According to Max’s information, the device will not feature the sensor, and instead, it will carry similar camera specifications found on the non-5G Galaxy S10+.
Speaking of which, he also believes that Samsung will introduce special modes for photography on the Galaxy S10 lineup. These include a Night and Portrait Modes similar to those present on current high-end flagship smartphones. While Max doesn’t confirm camera specifications, he believes that the following will be the camera specifications for the S10 smartphones’ different camera lenses:
- Ultra Wide: 16MP, F1.9, 123 degrees, no autofocus or OIS
- Normal: 12MP, F1.5/2.4, 78 degrees, autofocus and OIS
- Telephoto (S10+ only): 13MP, F2.4, 45 degrees, autofocus and OIS

The Galaxy S10 lineup will also feature new AKG headphones, but the source is uncertain whether these will have only cosmetic changes, or if Samsung will also upgrade their internals. Moving towards the smartphones’ design, the Galaxy S10 will feature a speaker grille that’s similar to the Note 9’s. All the smartphones except the S10 Lite will also have ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, and the gadgets will run Samsung’s One UI by default.
Finally, Max also mentions that the S10+’s triple rear camera setup will feature a super-wide, a wide-angle and a telephoto camera lens. As mentioned above, he does not mention a ToF (Time of Flight) camera sensor; the omission of which is in line with practicalities. Samsung will launch the Galaxy S10 lineup a week before the MWC. This time the smartphone will launch in San Francisco. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned. We’ll keep you updated on the latest.
