China’s regulatory body TENAA has certified Samsung SM-G8850 recently, with rumors calling it the Galaxy S9 Plus Mini thanks to the device featuring a dual-camera at back. Now, the phone has been spotted on AnTuTu as well. As per AnTuTu, the device will be a strong contender in the market, but only as a high-performing mid-ranger.

AnTuTu claims that the phone will have a Full HD+ screen with a resolution measuring at 2,220 x 1,080, while TENAA’s specs sheet detailed that the device featured a 5.8-inch screen with 2,960 x 1,440 resolution. Only time will tell who has got it right.

On AnTuTu, you can see a 4GB RAM version of the SM-G8850, but as per TENAA, there will be a 6GB RAM variant too. The base version will also feature 64GB of internal storage, with the storage being expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The device will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo and Samsung’s custom UI. SM-G8850 managed to obtain 136,483 points in AnTuTu’s benchmark tests, which is in line with what you would expect from a device powered by a Snapdragon 660.
The phone will also be carrying a 3,000mAh non-removable battery. Coming to the optics, the phone will have 12MP and 8MP combo on the back, but there are no details provided if this shooter will feature a variable aperture or not.

It is essentially a stripped down version of the Snapdragon 835 if you compare the two, and with the Exynos 9810 performing better than the Snapdragon 845 in a variety of tests, the actual Galaxy S9 Plus is a much better buy when it comes to raw performance.
However, if and when the Galaxy S9 Plus Mini does get released, it will fetch a cheaper price thanks to the compromises incorporated on a hardware level. However, the unveiling might only be limited to China as Samsung might be planning this move as a way to increase its market share in a region that is dominated by local players such as Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO and others.
