It is no secret that companies like Google harvest massive amounts of data off of their users. The practice isn’t going to stop anytime soon, but in the meanwhile, users have the right to know what kind of data is being sent back to the mothership. Google is one of the few companies that are open about their data-collection practices. To know more about what data has been collected, anyone with a Google account can go to myaccount.google.com. You have the option not only to check what the company knows about you but also delete some bits if you so desire. Today, Google has announced an improved user experience for the Google Account page with an enhanced design, additional security options, and more. According to their blog post:
Today, we’re announcing an improved Google Account experience. It includes new features to more easily navigate your account, more prominent security and privacy options, and detailed summaries of relevant information associated with it—like your personal info, your devices, payment methods, purchases, subscriptions, reservations, and contacts. The new experience is available today for all Android users and will launch on iOS and web later this year.
With the new redesign in effect, you no longer have to navigate through all of the menu options. You can simply search for the word “password” and be shown all of the options relating to the term password (which would be your account password and saved passwords in this example). The new UI has a tabbed design to help you look for things better.

The controls for each different type of activity data that Google collects has been organized in such a way that it allows you to instantly view data for things like your YouTube watch history, your voice and audio activity, location history, and more. There is even a new recently updated Privacy Checkup tool which can help you quickly review your current privacy settings. You can even remove your account from an old device to removing unverified applications that currently have access to your account data. The new Google Account page is available today for Android users and will come to iOS and the web later this year.
