Google is redesigning its sign-in page that will start showing up for end users from next week. To avoid users from believing if that’s a phishing scam, the company has shared the new page in a recent blog post, talking about all the expected visual changes.
The new sign-in screen isn’t dramatically different from the one being used right now, but Google said it better employs the company’s Material Design philosophy. The text has been aligned to center from its current left alignment, and the “Forgot email” has been placed out of the email input field, instead of inside.

Released in 2014, the company has been rolling out Material Design changes to its products. The sign-in screens are next in line to be given a Material Design overhaul.
“Starting on June 14, 2018, you may notice that when you sign in to your G Suite account, the screen looks slightly different,” Google wrote in its announcement post. “Some of the changes will include tweaks to the Google logo, an outline around the text field, and center alignment of all items on the screen.”
Since these subtle changes that almost make the new sign-in screen look exactly the same like the existing one could be taken as a phishing attempt, Google has published this notice well in advance to alert users. “If necessary, please provide your users advance notice of these changes,” the company recommended G Suite admins.
