Last year, Google announced Google Lens for iOS at the I/O conference. Now, it’s finally going live for all iOS users according to a post shared on the Google Photos Twitter page. The company further states that the feature will be rolling out to all Google Photos users in the coming weeks. So if you don’t see the feature in the app, do not be alarmed, it will arrive shortly. Google Lens Has Finally Made Its Way To iOS
Google Lens is a pretty neat addition as it analyzes your pictures and provides all the relevant information regarding it. It takes the information from the subject of the photos and provides additional details on it from the internet.

For instance, if you scan a photo of a painting, Google Lens has the ability to recognize the image and search relevant information regarding it, like the name of the painter and much more. It will direct you to various textual sources as well as imagery. The same concept applies to animal pictures, flowers and much more.

The feature made its debut alongside the Google Pixel 2 announcement. Since then the feature has been evolving and expanding. However, its availability on iOS marks an important milestone as users are not restricted from taking advantage of the Lens functionality. Prior to the recent wave of expansion, iOS users did not have access to the Lens feature, so we’re glad that it has finally made its way through.

The feature is part of Google Photos update version 3.15, so be sure to keep a look out for it if it has not reached your region yet.
