After countless leaks which concerned premature information, Google has officially presented its Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL flagships. Pre-orders are now open and the phones will start shipping from October 17. However, the launch date looks too good to be true and we hope that we don’t see a recap of 2017 when the stock was scarce.
The prices of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL start at $799 and $899 for the base storage models, which is 64GB, respectively and the phones will be available in the colors Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink. The phones will be launched in quite a few markets, including the U.S., the UK, Australia, France, Canada, India, Japan, Germany, Spain, Taiwan, and Singapore.

When it comes to pre-orders and sales, Google’s carrier partner Verizon has a good track record and you might want to consider it to avoid uncertainties. Other perks include the buy-one-get-one offer but pre-orders are not currently available on Verizon’s website. Although Pixel smartphones purchased through Verizon are unlocked and work with all carriers, the bootloader is locked and this may affect the resale value of the handset.
The Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL can also be pre-ordered using Google’s Project Fi wireless service which comes with a $799 service credit during the pre-order period if two new smartphones are purchased for a new or existing plan. A trade-in option is also available, but the amount credited is dependent on the model and condition of your existing device. The phones can also be bought from the Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy and other major physical channels.

Given that a lot of smartphones are slated for a launch this month, including the $749 iPhone XR, it would be in Google’s best interest to keep the supply steady or else it may lose some of its holiday season customers to other rivals. If you want to pre-book any device from Google, you can visit the company’s online store to begin.
