Apple at its WWDC event this year unveiled the forthcoming iOS 12 and macOS Mojave along with other firmware upgrades. One of the hottest additions parts of iOS 12 was Group FaceTime calls which allow individuals to video chat with up to 32 people. If you’re expecting the feature to be part of the initial release of iOS 12 and macOS Mojave, then you’re wrong. What may come as a disappointment is that Group FaceTime might not be ready in time for the iOS 12 and macOS Mojave. Let’s dive in to see some more details on the matter.
Group FaceTime Not To Be Included In iOS 12 And macOS Mojave’s Initial Release
As mentioned earlier, Group FaceTime will not be available readily on the iPhone, iPad, and Macs in the initial release of iOS 12. Instead, the feature will be rolled out in the future via software updates. You will now have to wait a little longer for the feature to hit your host devices. This is not the first time a feature has been delayed in a firmware update.

If you’re taking notes, you might as well remember that Apple was set to release its AirPlay feature with iOS 11. In the end, it was part of the platform nearly a year later with the arrival of iOS 11.4. However, we do hope that Apple will not take as much time with Group FaceTime and that it will arrive sooner. Do take note that Group FaceTime will also not be available on macOS Mojave and we expect the feature to arrive on both platforms at once.

Apple also seeded iOS 12 beta 7 to developers. We will let you guys more on the beta as soon as developers are done tinkering with the build. Appart from the usual bug fixes and performance enhancements, there will possibly be minor additions to the table. Today’s news of Group FaceTime not being part of iOS 12’s initial release comes from the new build’s release notes.
