Microsoft has just released Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903 to the Release Preview ring Insiders. The Windows maker had announced last week that it is delaying the public release of the new Windows 10 version to make sure it is stable and bug-free. The company is also making the update process more user-friendly to stop Windows 10 updates from breaking user machines.
In today’s announcement, Microsoft said that Windows 10 May 2019 Update Build 18362.30 is now available to Insiders who are signed up with the Release Preview ring. Anyone who is in this ring can “seek” this update by heading over to Settings Update Security Windows Update Check for updates.
How you can download Windows 10 May 2019 Update right now
“The May 2019 Update will remain in the Release Preview ring for an increased amount of time in order give us additional time and signals to detect any issues before broader deployment,” the company writes. This means this version won’t be made available to the public for a few more weeks.
If you are a Windows enthusiast and aren’t willing to wait any longer, you can easily enroll yourself into the Release Preview ring and download Windows 10 May 2019 Update right now by joining the Slow or the Release Preview ring.
- Go to Settings Update Security Windows Insider Program “Get started”.
- Click on Link an account and link your Microsoft or Azure Active Directory account.
- From the three options, select “Just fixes, apps, and drivers” to join the Release Preview ring and get the May 2019 Update. Remember, this will make sure you get the stable version and not the builds in active development.
- On the next screen, click on Confirm and then click on Restart Now to complete the process.
Once your PC is back up, head over to Settings Update Security and click on the “Check for updates” button to download Windows 10 May 2019 Update.
Microsoft assures that it will start releasing cumulative updates once you have downloaded the May 2019 Update. However, if you are someone who’s looking for a completely bug-free, no-issues update, the May 2019 Update isn’t for you right now. Those users should wait a few more weeks until version 1903 has been released to the public.
