Contrary to what the rumors said, the HTC U12 Plus will probably be launched worldwide in less than a month. Earlier rumors had stated that the phone will be introduced next month. Even though we are less than a month away from the unveiled, HTC has its lips sealed regarding the announcement. However, this new rumor corroborates the launch date hinted by earlier leaks.
HTC U12 Plus Will Be the Only Device Launched by the Company to Take on the Big Guns This Year
The HTC U12 Plus could begin retailing by the end of May or the initial days of June, as reported by PhoneArena. This means the phone will probably be unveiled by mid-May. This is in line with HTC’s schedule for HTC U11 last year, which was announced in May, followed by a ‘Plus’ variant six months later.

For some reasons, the company has skimped on the regular HTC U12 and is directly announcing the Plus model instead. Apparently, the Plus branding will justify the phone’s high price and also bring it in the same league as the Galaxy S9 Plus and Huawei P20 Pro.
Now, let’s talk about the specs. As per rumors, the phone will have a 6-inch OLED screen and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845. It will have 6GB of RAM with two storage variants broken down into the 64GB and 128GB capacities.
There will be a dual camera setup on the back, accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash. The fingerprint sensor would also be mounted on the back. The handset is expected to come with stereo speakers support and water resistance.
HTC has not made any official announcement regarding the HTC U12 Plus so far but we can expect the device will most likely be announced by mid-May, so let us keep our fingers crossed for any potential announcement in the near future.
