Huawei Preparing a Honor Note 10 With a Massive 6.9-Inch OLED Screen With 8GB RAM Variant Coming Soon

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor decided to skip the Honor Note 9 last year but that does not mean the company hasn’t discontinued the series and plans to launch the Honor Note 10 shortly. Honor’s president, Zhao Ming took to the Chinese social networking website Weibo to announce that the Honor Note 10 is coming soon.

Honor Note 10 Could Feature the 7nm Kirin 980, but Possibly Not Before the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro Get It

Zhao claims that the company has been working on the Honor Note 10 since two years, implicitly explaining why the Honor Note 9 was never released. He also seems to imply that the Note 10 will have new, innovative technologies like the GPU Turbo, which will increase graphical performance by up to 60 percent and efficiency by up to 30 percent.

Apparently, the Honor Note 10 is codenamed Ravel and it is expected to come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM along with 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage. Going by the previous rumors, we can expect the Honor Note 10 to sport a 6.9-inch Super AMOLED display sourced from Samsung, even though this rumor was targeted towards the release of the premium Mate 20 Pro. The screen may also sport an iPhone X style notch. To recap, the Note 8 featured a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED screen but since the Note 10 will feature reduced bezels, it could possess the footprint as its predecessor.

However, since it will also feature a bigger screen, the obvious ramification of possessing a bigger display is featuring a massive battery capacity. To remind you, the Honor Note 8 came with a 4,500mAh battery, so let us hope that the cell in the upcoming device is bigger than aforementioned capacity.

Now here is the interesting bit; the Honor Note 10 might be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980. This will be first in-house silicon from Huawei’s chip-making division that will take advantage of TSMC’s 7nm technology, which is said provide at least 20 percent higher performance coupled with up to 40 percent performance increase.

Apart from confirming the launch of the Note 10, Zhao Ming did not reveal any details about the upcoming device so take all of this information with a pinch of salt for the moment. We’ll be back with more details on the matter.
