If you remember a part of the song, then you can use those partial lyrics to search for a tune in Apple Music in iOS 12.
Don’t Know the Name of the Song? No Problem. Just Use Lyric Phrases to Find a Match on Apple Music in iOS 12
When it comes to searching for songs in Apple Music, or pretty much any music streaming service out there, you have to be very specific about the artist or song name. But with iOS 12, Apple is diving deep into search by allowing users to search for tunes using nothing but lyric phrases. Keep one thing in mind though: this feature does not work with every single song as some have missing lyrics and iOS 12 is way too early in its lifespan as beta software.

We’re quite certain that this feature will turn out to be an amazing addition to Apple Music for a wide variety of reasons. First and foremost, you don’t have to search the web for your song as you can do it right within the Music app. Secondly, you don’t have to be very specific about what you are looking for. Just punch in a part of the song and you’ll be up and listening in no time, as long as the tune is in Cupertino’s database, obviously.
We’ll be back with more new features as we dig into iOS 12 and others, so stay tuned.
