iPhone Mac Users Beware! Hackers Can Remotely Lock Your Device
A new wave of attacks on Mac users is occurring these days in some countries around the world. Several Mac users have stated in recent days that their machines have crashed after hackers have hacked into their iCloud accounts and applied a remote lock using Find My iPhone feature.
Hackers have somehow managed to enter the victims’ iCloud account and initiated the process of Find my iPhone from the remote way so that the devices that this person chooses are blocked.
Users are seeing a lock screen with a message which simply asks them to pay the ransom money in the form of Bitcoin if they want to receive the code to unlock the locked devices.

So a hacker gained access to my iCloud account (despite two-factor authorization) while I was asleep this morning.

Hackers have managed to find the passwords and email addresses of millions of users from the recent data breaches. So, hackers are trying their luck with some of the available usernames and passwords combination to remotely lock down computers.
The worst part of this incidence is, hackers just need to click on the “Find My iPhone” feature that is available on the iCloud.com website to remotely lock the devices.
The first thing to do is, just disable the Find my iPhone feature by going into the settings menu. From iPhone, you can disable the Find my iPhone feature by going into the Settings, tap on your name if you’re running iOS 11, then access the iCloud settings and disable the Find My iPhone feature.
Change your Apple ID Password for extra precaution. You can also increase security by enabling two-step authentication if it’s not already active on your account.
