After Apple opened up pre-orders for its iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and the latest Apple Watch Series 4, it did not take long for the shipping times to start slipping to next month. This could reveal that the tech giant’s latest offerings have started selling rapidly, resulting in future customers having to wait for a much longer period.
Shipping Estimates for the iPhone Xs Max Going as Far as October 12
Depending on your finish and carrier choices, the delivery dates for the iPhone Xs Max have gone up by 1 to 2 weeks, which means some deliveries will not be made until mid-October. Since it’s the flagship model, it is not surprising to see that shipping estimates have slipped from the original September 21 delivery date.

Websites of T-Mobile, ATT, Verizon, and Sprint all are showing delivery dates ranging from September 28 to October 12 for all variants of the iPhone Xs Max but some variants are still available for in-store pickup on launch day. Apparently, the carrier models are more in demand as the SIM-free iPhone Xs Max models, which must be paid for in full and do not qualify for the iPhone Upgrade Program, are still available for September 21 delivery. The shipping estimates for the iPhone Xs have not slipped yet.
Apart from some 40mm variants, nearly all stainless steel Apple Watch Series 4 models also seem to be running out as the delivery dates now range from October 5 to October 12 and it appears that shipping estimates for the aluminium Apple Watch Series 4 variants will also begin slipping soon. The more affordable GPS-only models seem to be more popular, with delivery times stretching to the second week of October, while most Cellular + GPS models are still available.
As orders continue to be placed, delivery dates for iPhone Xs Max and Apple Watch Series 4 are expected to slip further. Even though launch day delivery doesn’t seem a possibility now if you didn’t place your order early on, Apple retail stores will probably have stock available for in-store purchases. The first pre-orders for Apple Watch Series 4, iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max will be dispatched on September 21, which is the official launch date for the new devices.
