It Took Just Four Hours for the Premium Bezel-Less Vivo NEX to Sell Out

Vivo introduced the much anticipated NEX flagship smartphone 10 days ago. It is a true recipient of the term ‘bezel-less smartphone’ but in order to achieve that high screen-to-body ratio, the company needed to incorporate a pop-up selfie camera. If you are wondering, the screen-to-body ratio of the device is 91 percent and a device that features a unique like this would definitely be popular with the masses who have yet to upgrade to a flagship. As the phone features cutting-edge technologies, its price is not low in comparison to the competition that’s out there, but it still managed to sell out.

Premium High Price of the Vivo NEX Did Not Affect Its Sales – Not Confirmed How Many Units Were Sold

The variants with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory sells for $769 USD while the variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage retails for $692 USD if our currency conversion is right on the money. The Snapdragon 710 version retails for $600 USD. The phone that started retailing on the company’s website on June 23 sold out in just 4 hours.

However, the Vivo NEX is not the only smartphone competing in the ‘truly bezel-less’ space because OPPO also recently released its Find X flagship with an impressive screen-to-body ratio and a sliding camera mechanism. Even though the Find X looks more futuristic, it’s a little inconvenient to use. The pop-up camera of the Vivo NEX is much easier to use and the phone has a more practical design than the Find X because, with the latter, you cannot even strap on a protective case.

The high price of the Vivo NEX did not affect its pre-sale. After the release of the phone on June 12, various retailers such as Jingdong, Suning, and Tmall started their pre-sale. The phone will start shipping tomorrow and the delivery time may vary according to the circumstances of different platforms.

Obviously, Vivo is going to be pleased with the sales performance of the NEX. Domestic manufacturers do not usually get a lot of praise from foreign media, especially for the design of their phones but things are changing drastically which obviously means that massive smartphone companies like Samsung, Apple, and Huawei will have to take note of this.

The praise of both the Vivo NEX and the impressive design of the OPPO Find X has also put pressure on other mobile manufacturers to step up their game, which we believe they will in the coming months.
