Latest Version of Samsung Internet Beta Brings Intelligent Scan Support, New Reader Mode and More

Thanks to Google’s patronage, a significant amount of users use Chrome as their choice of browser on Android. Samsung’s in-house browser, called Samsung Internet (seriously) doesn’t get a lot of attention, which is why the company decided to sweeten the pot with some mind-blowing features. The latest version of the browser adds support for Intelligent Scan authentication, a new Reader Mode, and improvements to download history, along with some regional changes for those in the U.S., China, and India. For those who stuck by Samsung’s software and didn’t give in to Chrome, this is your time to shine.

In the U.S.,  users can now receive news notifications via the browsers. In India, users will see the estimated time remaining for downloads and in China, there is a new Trending Now section with content provided by Baidu. We might see all the features roll out across all markets eventually, as it looks like Samsung is testing them out in specific markets.

One of the most notable features of the latest Samsung Internet Beta is that it now supports Intelligent Scan authentication on the latest Galaxy devices. Intelligent Scan lets you log into apps and confirm payments. Now, you can use it to log in to your websites and authorise purchases online. The update also brings some new features to the browser’s Reader Mode. The Reader Mode provides you with a streamlined view of a website so that you can enjoy it without all the background distractions. With the latest update, you can pick your preferred background colour, font, and font size to fine-tune your online reading experience

Lastly, the update allows you to filter downloads by type, making it easier for you to sift through a mountain of files. There is even an option to share downloads from the new Share panel, delete downloaded files without having to find them on the storage, and clear all your download history entries. You can download it via the Play Store, where the APK has been released.
