Apple’s Gather Round event is just a few days from now and we’re still seeing leaks regarding different aspects of the devices to be unveiled. Now, a sketchy leak has been posted on Weibo this morning which seems to show an internal presentation slide from China Mobile, which is one of the largest iPhone carriers in the world (via Macotakara). According to the leak, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will be named ‘iPhone XC’ and the bigger 6.5-inch iPhone will be called the ‘iPhone XS Plus’. There are more details shared as well.
Sketchy Report Suggests iPhone XC And iPhone XS Plus Names For 6.1-Inch And 6.5-Inch iPhone Models
We would advise you take the news with a pinch of salt as the presentation slide could potentially be fabricated. However, if past trends are anything to go by, the new leak could turn out to be true. Previously, we got to know that the 5.8-inch model of the iPhone will be called the iPhone XS. A few days later, the iPhone XS Max name appeared for the 6.5-inch variant.

The new report points otherwise, suggesting that the bigger plus-sized variant will be called the iPhone XS Plus. This does make sense for the company as it has used the word ‘Plus’ for the bigger models launched in the past. However, the 6.1-inch iPhone is being coined as the iPhone XC. We’re not quite sure what the initials stand for. We know that the LCD model of the iPhone will be offered in various color options so possibly the ‘C’ in iPhone XC is derived from it.
The presentation slide also mentions that the iPhone XS series would feature dual-SIM variants. However, it seems they will be launched later this year. The slide also points to the prices of the upcoming iPhone models. The iPhone XC is listed at a price of 5888 Chinese yuan, iPhone XS at 7388 and the larger iPhone XS Plus is set at 8388 yuan. The prices in accordance with the 17 percent sales tax support the previously floating rumors in which the LCD model corresponds to $699, iPhone XS at $900 and the iPhone XS Plus at $1,000.

Do take note that the prices mentioned will be for the baseline models with 64GB of onboard storage capacity. So we’re looking at a lot of details in this single report and while we’re not entirely sure, we would hope the prices to remain lower.
