Microsoft Just Launched The Edge Browser For iOS And Android
Microsoft Edge is coming to Android and iOS. After the Windows Mobile failure, now the tech giant Microsoft is betting on a new approach: making Android and iOS work better together with Windows 10.
The mobile version of the Microsoft Edge was now available today as a Beta for anyone who has the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build. As for now, the access to the Microsoft Edge Preview for iOS and Android is only reserved for the Windows Insiders users.
At the core of Microsoft Edge for Android and iOS is the “Continue on Pc” feature. In fact, it will be used to synchronize your web searches between your Smartphone and the computer, so that you can continue where you left off.
Plus, you will be able to sync all your favorite passwords and bookmarks so you always have everything you need with you at all times.
In terms of design, the tech giant Microsoft has tried to match the Desktop version of Microsoft Edge, but in terms of features, there are still some that are missing. For example, the tabs we’ve opened and search history are not yet shared with the Desktop version of Edge.
At this time, the tech giant Microsoft is trying to reach users of Smartphones running the platforms like iOS and Android, so tablet support will have to wait. That means all the features we could have with the help of the tech giant Apple’s Pencil on iOS will still have to wait. On the other hand, Cortana’s support has not yet been included.
But in terms of search engine, Microsoft was not just limited to Bing and chose to include Google’s search engine and Yahoo. However, the definitions are still somewhat limited. In these early times, you will be able to block pop-ups and cookies and clear your search history. However, Microsoft has not yet included support for ad blocking.
If you are already a Windows Insider user, you only need to access this page and simply confirm that it is an Insider. Then the tech giant Microsoft will send you a message with the instructions to install the first Edge Beta for Android or iOS.
