Monster Hunter World has been released last year on PC and consoles, and in just one year it has managed to become one of the most successful entries in the series, selling over 11 million copies worldwide.
In its latest financial results, Capcom confirmed that Monster Hunter World was a phenomenal success in the previous fiscal year, and continued to maintain popularity also thanks to the strong performance of the Steam version. The game sales now exceed 11 million units, according to the publisher.

In this business, the Monster Hunter series served as the driving force in improving the Company’s business performance. Feature title Monster Hunter: World (for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) was a phenomenal success in the previous fiscal year, and continued to maintain popularity through the expansion of its user base, while the strong performance of the Steam version for PC boosted profits. Further, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (for Nintendo Switch), which was released in markets outside of Japan, enjoyed robust sales owing to its consistent popularity.
Monster Hunter World is getting expanded later this year with Iceborne, which will add a brand new environment, new monsters, new equipment to forge, a new quest difficulty rank and more to the game. More information will be revealed this Spring.
Monster Hunter World is now out on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in all regions.
