Siri on the iPhone is great. While it still lags behind Google Assistant in a bevy of aspects, iOS users have always been fond of a virtual assistant which makes their tasks comparatively easier. However, there are certain features which are still missing which includes multi-user support. It seems Apple is listening to consumer demands and might be working on multi-user support for Siri. It was discovered in a new Apple patent that Siri will be able to respond to different voices. Let’s dive in to see some more details on the matter.
New Apple Patent Details How Siri Will Be Able To Recognize Different Voices For Personalized And Accurate Response
First reported by AppleInsider, the USPTO office has granted a new patent from Apple which is titled as “User profiling for voice input processing”. Basically, the idea implemented in the Apple patent emphasizes more on the virtual assistant’s accuracy but the feature can be part of the mix as a whole.

The Apple patent details that Siri would be able to recognize a voice, which possibly means different individuals and then respond accordingly. Siri could recognize the voice via different methods like biometric voice print, commands and even the username and password combinations.
A series of past commands would then be accessible on a per-user basis, allowing the virtual assistant to respond in a more personalized and accurate manner. During the HomePod’s initial setup process, you have to permit the smart speaker to be able to read your personal information like text messages and more. Moreover, these commands can be carried out by anyone and not just the person who set the device up. So it’s not like Siri will only be limited to an iPad used by the entire family.

One thing to note here is that this is just an Apple patent, for now, featuring multi-user Siri support on iOS devices. There’s no word whether the functionality would ever see daylight.
