Those wondering what macOS 10.15 will bring to the table will be delighted to learn that Siri Shortcuts and Screen Time are coming to the Mac.
As we move closer to WWDC 2019 more and more details regarding Apple’s upcoming software has started to emerge. The oh-so notorious 9to5Mac has dived into the scene once again, highlighting that two big iOS features are coming to the Mac with macOS 10.15 – Siri Shortcuts and Screen Time.
Starting things off with Screen Time, it allows you to see how much time you are spending on certain apps, whether it’s social media, productivity or more. Once that data is visible to you as you keep on using your Mac, you will then be able to take action on it accordingly. The new entry for Screen Time will be available for users to check out in System Preferences.
Siri Shortcuts are finally coming to the Mac. And it is being reported that just like the iOS version of the app, it’s likely that users have to download the Shortcuts app from the App Store in order to get started with it. Using the Shortcuts app, users will be able to create custom routines and even automate tasks to their heart’s desire.
Wrapping things up, 9to5Mac suggests that a new Apple ID management panel is coming in macOS 10.15, allowing users to take better control of what happens using their personal ID. Last but not least, iMessage effects will also make the cut in macOS 10.15. Finally, users will be able to send some fireworks or confetti if they need to.
The report from 9to5Mac is worth checking out if you want to read up on things in more detail. But personally, things are looking exciting for the Mac as Apple’s primary focus for a long time has been iOS. With this sort of shift in software direction, it’s fairly obvious that Apple is still very serious about the Mac in a lot of ways.
We will keep our readers updated as more details arrive, so stay tuned.
