New OnePlus 7 Case Renders Show a Cutout for the Pop-up Selfie Camera

As the expected launch date of OnePlus 7 inches closer, leaks have also started intensifying, with the latest one apparently showing the case renders of the phone. The new images are in line with the previously leaked details of the phone and give us a fairly good idea of what to expect.

OnePlus 7 Case Renders Also Reveal a Single Bottom-Firing Speaker Cutout but No 3.5mm Audio Jack

While the likes of Huawei and Samsung may have gravitated towards a punch hole screen design to accommodate the selfie camera, OnePlus has presumably decided to follow the same route as its sister company Vivo and opted for an elevating selfie camera. The pictures also reveal that the OnePlus 7 will have a vertically aligned triple camera system on the back with the LED flash right beneath it. One of the cameras is rumored to be a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. The images also show the bottom firing speaker cutout as well as the area where the USB Type-C interface will be present.

Needless to say, it doesn’t seem like the company will bring the headphone jack back. Per rumors, the OnePlus 7 will sport a 6.5-inch FHD+ Optic AMOLED screen. It will apparently be fueled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the same chipset which will fuel the most Android flagships in the market this year. The phone will most likely have 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory for the base model, and it will not be surprising if we see a 12GB RAM variant launch.

It will almost certainly come pre-installed with Android 9 Pie with OnePlus’ own clean skin on top. Previous rumors state that a 4150mAh battery will reportedly be inside with support for fast charging. The OnePlus 7 will also reportedly have an optical in-display fingerprint reader. Recently, OnePlus reduced the price of its current flagship, the OnePlus 6T in China, thus raising speculations that the launch of OnePlus 7 is imminent.

The phone will most probably be unveiled in May or in June of this year, so stay tuned for the official launch later; we’ll find out soon enough if OnePlus adopts the pop-up selfie camera or not.
