It’s almost end of the week but Microsoft hasn’t yet dropped a new Preview build to its Windows 10 Insiders. With the previous drop, the company suggested that the development of Windows 10 Redstone 5 is largely finished with Microsoft now focusing on performance improvements and bug fixes. If you have been looking for that promised stability to come with a fresh new Insider Preview build, don’t hold your breath.
Windows 10 Redstone 5 Insiders won’t get a new build this week
Windows 10 development team has confirmed that no new Insider Preview build will be arriving this week since the build didn’t meet the company standards.

The data from Selfhost is in and… we won’t have a new Fast ring build this week. We’re already on track for a few code changes and are looking forward to next week! pic.twitter.com/tLH6ZBeSXM

Since the current release candidate hasn’t met the quality criteria for even the release for the Fast Ring Insiders, this release will probably be pushed to until the middle of the next week.
As reported earlier, Microsoft has reset its Skip Ahead program and anyone who was part of this highly exclusive group has been put back into the Fast Ring. Microsoft also announced moving Redstone 5 from the RS_PRERELEASE branch to the RS5_RELEASE branch, suggesting that no major new features should be expected from the upcoming build releases.

The company will soon open the Skip Ahead sign ups again and will start testing the 2019 Windows 10 editions with the group. Until then, the focus remains on stabilizing Windows 10 Redstone 5, which is expected to be finalized in the next two months with public released expected in October.
