OnePlus 6T Chin Bezel Gets Altered in Ad – Latest Attempt for the Company to Sell You Its Flagship

The OnePlus 6T features an improved design over the OnePlus 6 such as the inclusion of the teardrop notch and in-screen fingerprint scanner, but some might argue that removing the 3.5mm audio jack was not the right move. A lot has changed about the OnePlus 6T, but the latest ad from the company reveals that the flagship is altered a bit too much.

It could have been a move to woo the customer into thinking that they’re getting a flagship bearing an ‘all screen’ design, just like an iPhone customer thought she’d be paying top dollar for the iPhone XS Max as she believed it featured no notch, leading to a lawsuit. Regardless, we do believe that a reputable company like OnePlus should avoid such deception techniques as it breaks the trust between the company and its customers.

OnePlus 6T Graphical Trickery Spotted in Latest Ad – Check out the Video

If you browse the ad, you’ll see a man holding his OnePlus 6T in a horizontal position and playing Fortnite. Not only has the chin bezel been eliminated from this ad, but the teardrop notch is nowhere to be seen as well. In fact, we’d go far as to say that this altered OnePlus 6T looks a lot like the Vivo APEX concept phone that was shown to the public earlier this year.

Lenovo was also called out after it attempted to keep the audience hooked with its series of teasers of its mid-ranger Z5, which the manufacturer claimed sported a complete edge-to-edge screen with no notch and up to 4TB of internal storage. Despite the fact that the OnePlus 6T features an Optic AMOLED screen, bending that display and curving it to eliminate the chin bezel is a practice that only Apple executes with its iPhone lineup.

It is possible that some manufacturers retain the chin bezel as it is a costly process or simply because they don’t possess the engineering talent capable enough to accomplish this feat. Regardless, you should check out the ad yourself below and let us know down in the comments what you think has changed regarding the OnePlus 6T design.
