OnePlus 6T Shows up on Geekbench With Android 9 Pie, 8GB of RAM but No Snapdragon 8150 Sadly

Chinese firm OnePlus will launch its brand new flagship smartphone during the second half of the month before October ends and as you all know, it will be called the OnePlus 6T. This particular handset is said to be one of the most interesting smartphones to be launched this year, and the flurry of rumors, leaks and more related to this device means that it is going to feature a different design than the OnePlus 6T. Now, more information related to the smartphone’s internals have been leaked and they look very interesting, but one aspect had us disappointed.

OnePlus 6T Still Uses Snapdragon 845 From the Previous Model – Will Not Feature 3.5mm Audio Jack

The OnePlus 6T is seen recently listed in Geekbench’s database even though OnePlus has been testing their device for months right before our eyes whilst keeping everything quiet and mysterious. One would pay special attention towards not calling the device by its official name but the manufacturer made a slip in this regard.

The device apparently appeared under the name ‘FS FS P8801’ at Geekbench and not under the official one. According to WinFuture, entries of the device are being received from as early as the end of August, since all sorts of tests and optimizations are required to deliver maximum performance and fluidity from a device.

Using false names has become more of a tradition for OnePlus; considering their history, the OnePlus 6 was seen to have the name ‘NS NS P7819’ at Geekbench. The early samples have demonstrated this change of model number in the menu ‘over the phone’ of Android.

The benchmark entries are hardly a shocker now for the OnePlus 6T as it is simply an incremental upgrade. This means that as much as we would have wanted to see a Snapdragon 8150 running in the device, you can clearly sport the Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC, as the clock speed listed is 2.80GHz.

When it comes to memory, the usual 8GB of RAM appeared at Geekbench along with the Android 9.0 Pie as the operating system. Thankfully, the manufacturer is going to be keeping the user under consideration and ship the flagship running Google’s latest and greatest OS.

OnePlus 6T is predicted to sport a 6.4-inch OLED screen and an in-display fingerprint reader and if you’re curious about the announcement of the device, it will be showcased on October 30 in New York City.
