The Resident Evil 2 remake’s first big chunk of DLC arrives today, and Capcom has released a zombie-packed trailer for the free update. The Ghost Survivors features three alternate-universe missions in which you play as supporting characters who meet their untimely ends in the main story – “No Time to Mourn” stars gun shop owner Robert Kendo, “Runaway” stars the mayor’s daughter, and Chief Irons victim, Katherine Warren, and “Forgotten Soldier” features, well, a forgotten soldier.
As the trailer shows, The Ghost Survivors is mainly an action-focused update, with players running through areas from the main game (the sewers, Raccoon City streets, and labs), which have now been overrun with intimidating hordes of enemies, including some new zombie variants. The DLC is designed to be replayable, and will include an in-game shop where you can buy weapons to help you in additional playthroughs. Check out what The Ghost Survivors has to offer, below.

Looking pretty damn intense! Still holding out on Resident Evil 2? In my review, I found it to be a polished, smart remake, that perhaps could have been a touch more ambitious…
“Resident Evil 2 is a polished, respectful remake of a survival horror classic that probably would have benefitted from a slightly more daring approach. Hints of a braver revamp are sprinkled throughout, but it doesn’t take the risks necessary to join the canon of truly great video game remakes. Make no mistake though, if you loved the original Resident Evil 2, you’ll likely love the remake, and new players who can tolerate a few old-school quirks ought to have a gruesome good time as well.”
Resident Evil 2 out now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 – The Ghost Survivors update should be available to download now on all platforms. Expect a review of the DLC in the coming days.
