During a recent sporting event in America, Samsung demonstrated a video call with a functional 5G tablet prototype on 5G with Verizon. The tablet could handle multi-gigabit 5G speeds and also supported data session handover between 4G LTE and 5G for perfect connectivity.

Apparently, Samsung secretly displayed its 5G modem prototype to partners at CES 2018. According to details, it will be able to touch a theoretical speed of up to 5Gbps and it will be backward compatible with 4G LTE, 3G, and 2G networks. The Galaxy S10 is expected to be the company’s first 5G enabled smartphone, though that might not be its official name in the future.
