A brand-new The Witcher 3 4K terrain mod has been released, which replaces all original Skellige terrain textures with HQ 4K textures.
Created by modder ‘Boostin4kix’, the modder responsible for the White Orchard 4k Terrain mod, the mod is “lore friendly” and doesn’t add anything that shouldn’t be there. “This texture mod is somewhat lore friendly and doesn’t add things like snow where they don’t belong”, he writes. “I basically just tried to improve upon what was already there, so nothing should appear out of place.”

While this mod only affects Skellige, Boostin4kix has already released his 4K texture mod for White Orchard, and writes that he plans to release mods for other regions in the game as well.
Yes I’m going to try and continue this mod, I want to expand it to at least the major areas in the game, like Velen, and Toussaint”, he wrote when asked about other regions, and added that there’s a possibility that he will release a merged version of his 4K terrain mods in the future. “I’ve thought about that but it all depends on how big the file will be, if it’s under 5 gigs then yes, 5 gigs is the upload limit for the nexus”, he wrote.
